Verge

Verge: My first meeting with more organical poly-modelling. With him I wanted to have a mixture of very cartoon-like elements but still retaining a sense of realism on the props. I was very much inspired by the work of Jamie Hewlett on Gorillaz. This character is modelled and rigged in 3dsmax. It has 3 UVW maps dividing the shading process in logical modules (Fabrics,Metals and Organic). I used Mental Ray for this render cause I wanted to know if I could get the same soft shadows you can so easily achieve with V-ray.
